Cambridge Mba Essays 2013

The University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School has previewed the following MBA essay questions for the 2017-18 application for admission.

Career Objectives

Please provide a personal statement. It should not exceed 500 words and must include the following:

  • What are your short and long term career objectives?
  • What skills/characteristics do you already have that will help you to achieve them?
  • What do you hope to gain from the degree program and how do you feel it will help you achieve the career objectives you have?

Required Essay One

What did you learn from your most spectacular failure? (200 words max.)

Required Essay Two

Describe a situation where you had to work jointly with others to achieve a common goal. What did you learn from the experience? (up to 200 words)

Cambridge Judge Essays 2016-2017

Work Experience Essay 2: What is your most significant challenge within your current company? (1000 characters)

Work Experience Essay 3:What is your most significant accomplishment within your current company? (1000 characters)

Optional Essay: Please provide information on any aspect of your candidacy that requires further explanation, or information that you would like the Admissions Committee to know. (300 words)

Cambridge Judge Essays 2013-2014

Essay 2. Describe the worst team experience you have ever had. What did you do? (up to 400 words)

Essay 3. Either: In which place have you felt most inspired and why? Or: If you only had twenty-four hours to live, how would you spend them? (up to 300 words)

Career Objectives Questions (2008-2009):

A. Describe your career progression to date. What have been the key mile stones and/or turning points? What decisions and choices brought you to your current role? (Please do not exceed 300 words)

B. What is your immediate post MBA career objective (role, industry, location, responsibilities)? What skills and experience do you have that will help you achieve it? How will the Cambridge MBA contribute to your attainment of your goals? (Please do not exceed 300 words)

C. What is your long term career vision and how will an MBA help you to achieve it? (Please do not exceed 150 words)

Cambridge Judge Essays 2008-2009

Essay A. Describe yourself. What are your strengths and how do you utilise them? What attributes would you like to improve upon and why? (400 words)

Essay B. Describe your leadership style. Tell us about a project, task or experience where you had to motivate and direct individuals or a team. Were you successful, and if so, and why? If not, what did you learn yourself? (400 words)

Essay C. Why is the Cambridge MBA the right programme for you? Which aspects will contribute the most to our learning experience? What unique experience and/or personal attributes will you contribute to the learning experience of your classmates? (400 words)

Career Objectives Questions:

Cambridge Judge Essays 2006-2007

Essay 1. Describe a work project or task that you found difficult or which did not go well. What would you have done differently in retrospect?

Essay 2. How would you like to be remembered?

Career Objectives Question: What are your short-term and long-term career objectives? What skills / characteristics do you already have that will help achieve them? How will the Cambridge MBA help you? (Please do not exceed 400 words in total.)
